MOMOM is Taking a Break
The MDA Foundation’s mission is Improving Missouri Smiles. We were created to be a benefit for many. Since 2011 our access to care projects like the MOMOM clinic are designed to provide basic dental treatment for large numbers of our neighbors who otherwise may not be able to access care. Our skilled and compassionate volunteers enjoy providing needed relief to our patient base in a safe and dignified manner.
The 2020 Coronavirus Pandemic has impacted everything including dentistry. There still are many unknowns related to public safety and large gatherings. Based on numerous recommendations from healthcare authorities at the national and local level and based on an abundance of love for our patients and volunteers, the MDA Foundation Board has decided to postpone all access to care clinics until at least the summer of 2021.
Large scale clinics take considerable time to plan and execute safely. We look forward to when we can announce our next clinic. In the meantime please do not put off needed dental care. Oral health is vital to your overall health. You can search for low income clinics in your area at www.modental.org/clinics
What is the Mission of Mercy
The Missouri Mission of Mercy (MOMOM) is a large-scale dental clinic that provides free oral healthcare to patients of all ages who cannot otherwise afford or access care. Nationwide since 2003 Mission of Mercy clinics have helped more than 254,000 patients and have provided nearly $166 million in free dental services. In Missouri, more than 6,900 dental and general volunteers have provided more than $6.5 million in free care to 10,954 patients since 2011.
