CE Broker Overview

CE Broker is the new, online portal for CE attestation implemented by the Missouri Dental Board (MDB) for the current license renewal period, the deadline for which is November 2026.

In August, the MDA met with the MDB to discuss member concerns with CE Broker and the challenges MDA and component societies have encountered in helping licensees. The Board pledged to investigate those concerns, and since then, Dental Board staff has been granted greater system access and additional training to better assist licensees. 

MDA is not the licensing agency and does not have access to view any CE Broker records of licensees. If you have questions, contact the MDB at 573-751-0040.

MDA Update 

This is the CE reporting system for the MDB, not the MDA. The MDA had no role in or consultation about selecting this product for CE attestation. However, the MDA is sharing information to help its members who also are licensees.

  • To assist members, MDA has created a How-To Guide.
  • All CE credits for MDA events and programs held during the current reporting period (which is 11/30/24 to 12/01/26) are/will be included in the ADA Member Portal.
  • All future MDA CE credits will continue to be updated in the member portal as events occur.
  • All CE credits for ADA programs should also be current in your portal.

Activating Your CE Broker Account

You will never have to pay for a CE Broker Basic Account, but licensees do have the option to subscribe to an upgraded account, which offers additional CE tracking tools. Key features of the CE Broker account include:

  • Digital Tracking: Access your complete course history and check your compliance status any time.
  • Course Search: Easily find every course needed to successfully complete your license CE requirements. 
  • Easy Reporting: Most education providers will automatically report course completions to CE Broker for you, but you can also easily self-report any missing credits by uploading your proof of completion. 
  • Helpful Support: Access CE Broker’s digital Help Center for a robust library of articles or contact their U.S.-based team of support representatives by email or chat, 8am-8pm EST, Monday-Friday.

The MDB is now using CE Broker as its official continuing education (CE) management system. The MDA reported on this change in a magazine article.

Pursuant to rule 20 CSR 2110-2.071(4), licensees must report CE documentation to this system prior to license expiration or during the renewal process. Section 332.181, RSMo, has always required that dentists “submit satisfactory evidence of completion of fifty hours of continuing education” in order to renew.

  • Up until now, there was not a practical way for licensees to submit copies of their CE with the renewal.
  • The only way of monitoring compliance with the CE requirements was to have licensees attest to having completed the CE requirement on the renewal and then conduct audits after the renewal to check for compliance.
  • With that process, the Board only had the manpower and resources to audit a small percentage of licensees for compliance (usually around 5 percent).
  • With the implementation of the new Professional Registration licensing system, MOPRO, Missouri licensing boards gained the ability to monitor CE compliance at the time of renewal.
  • Licensees will now be able to submit the evidence of completion of the required hours as outlined in the law (through CE Broker).

As a reminder, the Rule states the time block for reporting is “a two-year period with starting dates of December 1, 2002, through November 30, 2004; December 1, 2004, through November 30, 2006; and repeating in this sequence from that date.” The Rule also states that to renew a license, each dentist shall submit satisfactory evidence of completion of 50 hours of CE (and each dental hygienist 30 hours) during the two-year period immediately preceding the renewal period. 

Questions 

Will the AGD automatically share my CE records with the Board? This is where I track and store all my CE records. Board reply: The AGD may automatically report their CE credits to CE Broker — many of the largest providers do. However, those arrangements are between CE Broker and CE providers. There will not be any direct integration between AGD and the Board. Licensees should set up their CE Broker account and check with their CE providers to see if they report directly to CE Broker. If not, the licensee will be required to provide the CE documents to CE Broker.
