Endodontic Instrumentation & Obturation

Format: Lecture
Suggested
Audience: All Dentists
New Dentist Committee Recommended

Special Note: The Friday PM program is a prerequisite for attending the Saturday AM hands-on workshop.

As technology and science advance, so do endodontic instrumentation and obturation. Clinical instrumentation continues to move forward with modified designs, shapes, metallurgy and rotary file motions. Furthermore, root canal obturation has also evolved in endodontic sealers allowing more efficient obturation techniques at lower costs. The ability to utilize efficient instrumentation and obturation techniques that are safe, simple and predictable is within reach.

Course Objectives

  • Familiarize yourself with the different file technologies and options for imparting an appropriate shape to the canal.
  • Gain an understanding of the pros and cons of sealers and obturation techniques.

Format: Lecture & Hands-On Workshop
Suggested
Audience: All Dentists
New Dentist Committee Recommended

Special Note: The Friday PM program is a prerequisite for attending this hands-on workshop. Max 35 attendees.

During endodontic treatment, mechanical instrumentation alone will not rid the root canals of bacteria. A sound irrigation protocol can help to deliver endodontic irrigants to inaccessible areas of the root canal system, penetrate and remove smear layer and help to prepare for a smooth obturation procedure.

Course Objectives

  • Recognize the importance of removing infection-causing bacteria.
  • Hands-on guidance and use of the SmartLight Pro EndoActivator, Wave One Gold endodontic treatment solution and GuttaCore obturators.
