Missouri Medicaid Updates

There have been several recent updates related to dental Medicaid (MO HealthNet), including Managed Care Updates, Tips for Effective Billing and Ordering-Prescribing-Referring for Medicaid patients from Non-Medicaid providers. Visit the News page for updates and sign up to stay informed.

CMS Delays Medicare Part D
to January 2019

On November 1, the ADA News reported that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services announced it is delaying enforcement of the Medicare Part D prescriber enrollment requirement. Providers now need to enroll by January 1, 2019 instead of by February 1, 2017. The ADA continues to seek a legislative repeal of the requirement. Read More

FDA Bans Powdered Gloves

As of January 18 the FDA has banned the use of most powdered medical gloves. It applies to patient examination gloves, powdered surgeon’s gloves and absorbable powder for lubricating a surgeon’s glove. Read More

EPA Amalgam Rule

The EPA released a final rule on December 15 requiring dental practices nationwide to install amalgam separators. The ADA has developed a number of resources to aid member dentists with questions they may have regarding compliance. These resources are available at

Update Find-a-Dentist Profile

Members told the ADA they wanted more patients. They responded with a new, 3-yer advertising campaign that will spend $6 million annually on search and digital advertising to direct consumers to make an appointment with an ADA dentist.
