Jake Lippert, DDS of Washington, Mo. passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023.
In 1998, Dr. Lippert, a former MDA president (1988-89) and recently retired dentist became the MDA Executive Director. He was the first dentist to serve in this role, and did so for nine years from 1998-2006. He was then appointed to the position of Executive Director Emeritus and Director of Legislative and Regulatory Policy. He retired from the MDA December 31, 2007.
As ED, Jake quickly went about improving MDA’s legislative influence in Jefferson City and relationships with state agencies, including the Missouri Dental Board. Lippert also oversaw the association’s change to policy governance and the staff’s assumption of more duties.
As executive director, Lippert helped develop and pass important legislation. During his time, the Missouri Dental Board officially established the Dental Well Being Committee, which would strengthen the assistance that the Well Being Program provided to dentists. Legislation also passed that allowed a surviving spouse to own a dental practice for two years following the death or incapacitation of the dentist. He also led the construction and move to MDA’s current office building in west Jefferson City, a move that afforded the association room for growth and additional non-dues revenue.
Dr. Lippert received the MDA Distinguished Service Award in 1996 and was named MDA Dentist of the Year in 1998. In 2000, he and his wife, Anna, received an MDA Presidential Citation Award. In addition to his involvement with MDA, during his career he was very active with his local component, the Greater St. Louis Dental Society.

Memorial visitation for Dr. Jake Lippert will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington, MO. A parish rosary will be held at 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington, MO.
