Jefferson City, Mo. – Dr. Daniel E. Kessler, a general dentist from Kimberling City, Mo., was installed as the 150th president of the Missouri Dental Association (MDA) on November 3, 2018 at the MDA House of Delegates.
Dr. Kessler received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1985 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Drury University, Springfield in 1979. He is an alumnus of Kickapoo High School, Springfield. He has been in private practice since June 1985 and has general dentistry practice locations in Kimberling City and Branson.
Leading up to this office, Dr. Kessler has served his local, state and national dental organizations in a variety of manners, including: membership in the American Dental Association; membership in the Missouri Dental Association and Treasurer, 2012-16; membership in the Greater Springfield Dental Society (GSDS), including delegate to the MDA, GSDS President, 2015 and GSDS Foundation President, 2013. He is Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and honorary dental organization that recognizes excellence in the dental profession.
Dr. Kessler participated in the creation of the Children’s Smile Center (in 2002), a not-for-profit dental clinic in Christian and Stone Counties in Missouri, for which he was vice president in 2008. He also served on the committee to establish the first Missouri Mission of Mercy charitable dental clinic, a program that continues to provide dental care to those with limited or no access.
