201​9 Legislative Session Agenda

The 2019 Missouri Legislative Session will officially convene January 9 and adjourn May 17. The following agenda was approved by the MDA's Legislative and Regulatory Committee. In addition to thi agenda, the MDA consistently monitors scope of practice, regulatory and third party payer matters in regard to the dental profession. 

Once bills are filed, a list will be provided for tracking. 

Budget Items

Increase Medicaid Provider Reimbursement Rates
Support increased reimbursement rates for providers of Medicaid dental services.

Maintain/Increase Funding for Adult Dental Services Medicaid
Support maintaining current or increasing funding for adult dental services Medicaid.

State Dental Director Funding
Support restored funding for the State Dental Director.

Donated Dental Services/ Elks Mobile Dental Programs
Support continued funding for Donated Dental Services Program and the Elk’s Mobile Dental Program.

Legislative Language

Insurance Reimbursement Methods
Generate legislation that allows healthcare providers to choose their reimbursement method and prohibits insurance companies from requiring electronic payments.

Claims Denials – Prior Authorization
Generate legislation that prohibits dental carriers from denying claims that received prior authorization.

Capit​ol Connection

As a member benefit, all MDA members receive a “Capitol Connection” weekly recap of relevant legislative activity during the legislative session.

Without the MODentPAC, MDA members would not have the ability to establish and maintain solid relationships with the policy makers of this state. Your contributions allowed us to secure the time and attention of key players within the General Assembly. If you are not a member, you can sign up to become a monthly contributor or provide a one-time contribution. You also can contribute on your dues statement. MODentPAC supports candidates who support dentistry regardless of party affiliation. Contributions are made at the recommendation of the MODentPAC Board of Directors.
