This course is designed for the general practitioner interested in treating more difficult cases and expanding upon their current endodontic offerings. During this course you will review more uncommon cases that can present themselves in a typical GP practice and focus on how to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.

• Diagnose and treatment plan more difficult endodontic cases.

As technology and science advance, so do endodontic instrumentation and obturation. Clinical instrumentation continues to move forward with modified designs, shapes, metallurgy and rotary file motions. Furthermore, root canal obturation has also evolved in endodontic sealers allowing more efficient obturation techniques at lower costs. The ability to utilize efficient instrumentation and obturation techniques that are safe, simple and predictable is within reach.

• Familiarize yourself with the different file technologies and options for imparting an appropriate shape to the canal.
• Gain an understanding of the pros and cons of sealers and obturation techniques.

During endodontic treatment, mechanical instrumentation alone will not rid the root canals of bacteria. A sound irrigation protocol can help to deliver endodontic irrigants to inaccessible areas of the root canal system, penetrate and remove smear layer and help to prepare for a smooth obturation procedure.
