Joshua Austin, DDS, FAGD, FACD
Dr. Joshua Austin graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio Dental School, one of the top-ranked dental schools in the nation since 1993. He excelled in dental school, was president of his graduating class, and capped off a successful senior year by being honored with Texas Dental Association Outstanding Senior Dental Student award. Dr. Austin is a member of the prestigious Seattle Study Club and other professional memberships include the Academy of General Dentistry, the Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Rotary Club of San Antonio. He is a published author, and lectures nationally on restorative dentistry and reputation management. In the past, Dr. Austin has served as a faculty member in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at UTHSCSA Dental School. In 2009, he was named the Texas Dental Association Young Dentist of the Year, and in 2010, the Texas Academy of General Dentistry named him New Dentist of the Year—the most prestigious award it gives for dentists who have graduated in the previous seven years. In 2014, Dr. Austin became a Fellow in the American College of Dentists.
Brian Niceswanger & Stephanie Preut
Brian Niceswanger is the leader of Evans & Dixon’s Health Care Law Group. He is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried dozens of jury trials in state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas, as well as states across the country. His practice includes many areas of healthcare law (telemedicine, risk management, contracting disputes, professional credentialing, state licensure, professional negligence, managed care), and in more than two decades of health care practice, he’s represented institutions, physicians and physician groups, dentists, podiatrists, chiropractors, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and many other health care providers in virtually all areas of practice. Additionally, Mr. Niceswanger’s practice includes employment law, products liability, business, real estate and catastrophic personal injury litigation, including cases arising from explosions and fires. In recent years, Mr. Niceswanger increasingly has been asked to provide professional negligence and risk management consulting and education services, and has presented to regional and national gatherings of physicians, attorneys and insurance representatives. In 2013 he was asked to join the faculty at the University of Missouri, Kansas City as an adjunct professor in the School of Dentistry, where he continues today.
Stephanie Preut is the Vice President of Evans & Dixon’s Health Care Law Group, focusing her practice in the area of health care litigation, representing both health care providers and injured patients in case involving wrongful death, negligence, chiropractic negligence, allegations of misdiagnosis and more. Ms. Preut is dedicated to the defense of doctors, psychologists, chiropractors, dentists and other health care providers, including defense in the case of board actions, such as regulatory boards’ investigations and/or licensing disciplinary action matters.
Megan Lenahan, DDS / Ashley Popejoy, DDS / Emily Taylor, DDS
Dr. Megan Lenahan is a board-certified pediatric dentist. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Truman State University and from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. She attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for her pediatric dentistry residency. Dr. Lenahan practices in St. Louis in private practice and at Crider Health center, doing full-mouth dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia. She’s currently President of the South County St. Louis Dental Society, Vice Chair of the Greater St. Louis New Dentist Committee and Vice Chair of the Missouri New Dentist Committee.
Dr. Ashley Popejoy is a board-certified pediatric dentist, the director of pediatric dentistry at Jordan Valley Community Health Center and has been the associate director of the NYU-Langone Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry program in Springfield, Mo. since 2014. She also enjoys external faculty appointments at UMKC-SOD and ATSU-MOSDOH for students rotating through Jordan Valley. Dr. Popejoy received her BA in Molecular Biology from William Jewell College in 2007 and her DDS degree from UMKC School of Dentistry in 2012. Immediately following dental school graduation, she relocated to Chicago for her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and Masters in Oral Sciences from the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Popejoy is a board member for the Greater Springfield Dental Society, is a state clinical director for Special Smiles, Special Olympics Missouri and has served as a delegate for MDA House of Delegates for the past two years. She and her husband of 12 years, Brian, are originally from Branson. They have two sons, Jackson and Parker, and are looking forward to welcoming foster children to their home very soon.
Dr. Emily Taylor grew up in Trimble, Mo. and received her BS in Environmental Science from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., in 2010. Dr. Taylor then attended the UMKC School of Dentistry where she received her DDS degree in 2014. Her pediatric dentistry residency and Master of Science in Dentistry was completed at Indiana University-Riley Children’s Hospital in June 2016. Dr. Taylor is a board-certified Diplomate with the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She practices in Rolla, Mo. at Pediatric Dentistry of the Ozarks, which she opened in 2017.
