Quick Question

Thanks for taking a moment to answer our current "Quick Question." We've posted these in an effort to learn more about how to serve our membership better. Check back for tabulated responses.

Background

  • At its 2008 House of Delegates, the MDA passed Resolution 11, to research developing a public education campaign which focuses on oral disease prevention to help patients understand the importance of oral health to overall health.
  • Many state associations have developed public education campaigns that include print, television and radio messages which focus on oral health prevention and regular dental visits.
  • An example of a state that has done this with much success is the Michigan Dental Association.
  • Their public education campaign is funded through a member special assessment of $265 per year for active members, which generates over $1 million, of which $850,000 is allocated to the purchase of media time.

The Question

Would it be value to you, as a member, for the MDA to conduct a similar effort and to be assessed in a similar manner as Michigan?
