Speakers Biographies

Craig Hollander, DDS

Dr. Hollander has been a pediatric dentist in St. Louis for the past 24 years. He graduated from UMKC School of Dentistry in 1988 and then completed a one year GPR at Miami Children's Hospital in Florida. Dr. Hollander then went to the University of Iowa to get his graduate specialty training in pediatric dentistry. He is a past recipient of the Missouri Dental Association's Dentist of the Year award and the Greater St. Louis Dental Society's Distinguished Service award for his work on children's oral health initiatives throughout the state. He is currently the president of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society.

Eric Gottman, DDS
Dr. Eric Gottman earned his dental degree in 2001 and a certificate of prosthodontics in 2004 from the UMKC School of Dentistry.  Upon graduation, he started as a clinical assistant professor at the UMKC. He has used his dental expertise to educate dental students in fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics in the pre-clinical and clinical setting. In 2011, Dr. Gottman was appointed as the Director of the UMKC - Oncology Dental Support Clinic, where he coordinates the dental care for oral cancer patients, as well as, treating the oral complications often associated with radiation and chemotherapy. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Gottman also coordinates the oral oncology course at UMKC.

Jon Copeland, DDS
Dr. Jon Copeland, DDS is a 2009 graduate of UMKC School of Dentistry. Following dental school, he completed a general practice residency at University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has been in private practice in St. Louis since 2010 and opened an office in Wildwood in 2013 and is currently on staff at Mercy Hospital. In January 2015, Dr. Copeland started a three-year term as MDA chair of the New Dentist Committee. Dr. Copeland is a member of the ADA, AGD, ASD, MoAPD, and a Fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He lives in Wildwood, MO with his wife Stephanie and their two daughters.

Chris May, CDT
Chris May, CDT is a ceramist who owns and operates May Dental Arts in St. Louis. He is a trained ceramist and has extensive knowledge in implants and CAD/CAM manufacturing. Chris owes much of his development to the ten years he dedicated to working for one of the largest laboratories in the US before starting his own laboratory. Chris had the opportunity to train with some of the most widely respected technicians, companies and clinicians over his seventeen year career. Working for one of the largest laboratories allowed Chris to develop into a highly trained ceramist while at the same time understanding the value and importance of developing business models, analyzing and researching materials, optimal use of time and efficiencies as well as laboratory work flow and layout. Chris is now focused on further development and refinement of CAD integration into his laboratory and how he can use technology to better his team and his laboratory so they all can focus on crafting smiles with passion, art and precision.

Tanya Brown, DDS
Dr. Brown's audiences and clients benefit from her 360-degree, cumulative experience in the dental practice—from chair-side dental assistant, to practice administrator, to owner dentist and founder of The Center for Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry. She is dentistry’s expert on Case Acceptance and Connecting the Dots to help patients say “YES”. Through a combination of the school of hard knocks and fabulous mentors, she has developed repeatable strategies that create successful practices and happy patients. Her infectious love for the profession has turned into a calling to help others learn and grow in order to realize their dreams. Dr. Brown honors each member of the team as a vital contributor to the success of the dental practice and helps dentists and dental teams elevate their personal leadership, case acceptance and practice profits.

Angela Pratt, RDH, BSBA

Angela Pratt, RDH, BSBA is working with Bender, Weltman, Thomas, Perry & Co, PC, to provide dental practice management services.  More than a professional adviser, she serves as an advocate for your entire team. Angela’s experience and understanding of people enables her to balance the specific needs of hygienists, patients, doctors and staff, creating a profitable, proactive and conductive environment to the entire team. She is very cognizant of the issues you face every day in growing your practice. With substantial industry expertise, Angela has been helping people and dental offices to find their “WOW” factor.

Jerri Wildhaber
Jerri Wildhaber is the Professional Liability Manager of MDIS. Jerri graduated with an associate's degree in Accounting and has been with MDIS since 1998. She has worked in many capacities for MDIS, with the Professional Liability being her primary focus for the past 8 years. She is continuously building her knowledge of the Professional Liability and various products MDIS offers, and strives to help dentists find the coverage to protect their practice, staff and families.

Greg Russell
Greg Russell is Executive Vice President of Missouri Dental Insurance
Services. The mission at MDIS is to help dentists mitigate and transfer their personal and professional risks along with offering financial services such as retirement plans, annuities, life insurance and strategies designed to ensure your family’s security and build and protect your wealth. Greg graduated from William Woods University with a bachelor’s in Business Administration and holds licenses in Life and Health and Property Casualty. He was previously licensed as a Series 6/63 Securities broker. Perhaps his greatest qualification is formally being a business owner prior to his insurance career. This experience helps him understand the challenges and demands faced by employers and offers solutions to those problems.
