Bright Ideas Start at the Component Level

The Best Practices session is a favorite of the recent ADA Conference on Recruitment and Retention. It allows components and constituents to share field tested examples of outreach events. Some are designed around a specific attraction but most could be repeated anywhere. The real key is local ingenuity and enthusiasm.
I was proud when Dr. Rapini represented the GSLDS and shared before the entire conference about the Hi-Tech night they hosted last summer and plan to repeat this year. The local team did a great job of designing a fun event with a purpose and they worked hard to involve vendors, offer great prizes, and provide exposure to new products and partners. To get the full scoop on the event contact Laura@gslds.org
You can contact me for other ideas (ain't too proud to steal a good one) or more importantly put your heads and elbow grease together at your local level and design an event that works for your component. Maybe next year, I'll be posting your picture.
