MOMOM 3 gets real!

I love being part of something bigger than myself. To me, MOMOM is the perfect example of "bigger than me" and really bigger than any one person. You certainly see this once the clinic doors open and there are close to 1,000 volunteers from all over the place working insane hours to serve patients and help their fellow man.
But you also see the "bigger" element in the planning. The details for hosting a clinic are endless and it takes a well balanced team to pull them all together. That's what is happening. Today, several of us took about a 2 hour site visit at the Chaifetz Arena to envision the set up and execution of MOMOM 3 to be held May 2-3, 2014. I love hearing the questions everyone asks because they bring needed balance to all perspectives - patient, dentist, lay volunteer, engineer, etc. We all see MOMOM through different analytical filters.
For example, that's JR in the photo above. He is operations staff at Chaifetz and he's pointing out some unique feature to our group on the concourse. We plan to use the expansive concourse area for patient registration, triage, routing, and radiography. When patients finally enter the floor, it will all be about patient treatment.
The site visit and the leadership meeting held two days ago (that's us in the beautiful St John's Hospital Board Room) both reflected significant progress in MOMOM 3 preparations. It's neat to see some great additions to the hospitality team and other key areas. You can sense the momentum growing which is good because time is flying by. Just mark your calendars now and plan to sign up when registration opens in January 2014.
